Google will start selling a new phone-Designer Project Ara in Puerto Rico


One of the most anticipated gadgets of American IT-giant Google has become modular smartphone. It can be attached thereto, any additional parts - from the flash memory to the thermometer. Pilot Project Ara option for the consumer market will finally see the light this year. The first country where you can buy a new device, it was Puerto Rico.
The ambitious project Google Project Ara will allow users to not only update your smartphone as new, more modern devices, but also replace the parts in case of breakage - instead of buying a new device.
The main base unit forms a so-called frame, which can be set in any one motion module. The kit will include a very wide range of additional elements - screen, camera, processor, memory devices, watches, batteries, etc. Any item can be purchased separately.
Guide Google chose Puerto Rico as a launching pad for Project Ara including because the population prefer different types of smartphones and operating systems.
According to Gizmodo, promotional campaign for Google intends to equip trucks for transportation and sale of food in a kind of "demomobili." However, even an approximate release date of the gadget is still unknown.

Finnish start up Circular Devices develops its Puzzlephone, which will consist of three modules. The first includes a display, speakers, and the frame, the second - the additional battery and the electronic components, the third - the processor and the camera.
